How to browse history.
Searching the history.
factCHAT has a very good way to checkout old conversations - the search function. While you are logged in, press the search button, and the search panel will be displayed:
You can search the chat-room'displayss history by user-name match, or keyword match. The first searches for the given phrase in the user-name of the messages, and the second in the body of the messages. Type in what you want to search for, and press "search" or Enter.
Then, a list of results will be displays. The results limit is 100. They are shown in pages, which you can change with the "previous page"/"next page" buttons". Scroll the results up/down with the arrows to the right.
By clicking on a results message, the factCHAT will make a quick view (download the messages around that result), and you will be able to see conversation around the found result in the blackboard.
You can close the search panel with the close button (top right), or by pressing again on the search button in the main screen.
You can also select the time span, where to make the search. In the search panel, press the "select time" button, and the time edit-boxes will appear. You can enter then the from-to dates, that you want. The search will take in mind these times, for as far as they are shown when you press the "search" button. They are hidden on each closing of the search panel. So if you have just searched by using the time criteria, and want to make a new search without it, close the search panel, and open it again.
You can reset all data in the form using the reset button. Note that this will set the from/to dates to creation of the chat-room/now. You also cannot search by hour - only by date.
