Status/info messages and special actions.

The top black panel contains information on your current activity/status:

\resizebox*{1\columnwidth}{!}{\rotatebox{270}{\includegraphics{i_2_9.eps}}}

To the left is your color and User-name. The text that is directly next to it, is your current status. The status displays if you are online (this means logged in to a chat-room) / off-line, and the current view mode. The status may also contain the phrase "HTTP". This means that you are connected through HTTP mode - which then again means that the factCHAT will run much slower. If you are through HTTP mode, his would me most probably due to your Internet providers configuration - if you are behind a firewall, you will not be able to connect via standard fast TCP/IP connection to the factCHAT server. But even in HTTP mode, all functions are working, but a bit slower.

In the center you can see the current chat-room's name, and to the right are the factCHAT logo and the Software's version number.

At the bottom of the screen, right below the blackboard, you can see the info panel:

\resizebox*{1\columnwidth}{!}{\rotatebox{270}{\includegraphics{i_2_10.eps}}}

Here you will see important information scroll from the right to the left. Such information for instance is: When you are in view modes, if a user logs in - you will see a message "user logged in"; If in view mode, if someone says something in the current chat-room, a message containing the text will appear; etc.

The button on the main screen, that says "change room" is used to change your current room. Note that this button may not be displayed, if you are running a private chat-room factCHAT. When you press the "change room" button, the rooms list will appear. You can then log in to a room the same way as it was described above. The only difference is that there is a back button (bottom left of the rooms list), with which you can return back to your chat.

By pressing the "logout" button, you will log out of the current chat-room, and will be no longer logged in to any chat-room. Even so, you can press the go to room button after that, to get back to chatting in a new chat-room.

The button with the sound icon is used to turn the sound effects of factCHAT on/off. The default is "on". You will need a sound card in order to hear sounds. factCHAT makes a sound on each new message received from another user, and on each user login. Thus, if you are in a chat-room, waiting for someone to log in, you can minimize factCHAT, and do some other work, and when a user logs in, you will head the "knock-knock" sound.
