Which are the necessary technical requirements for the factchat?
 
factchat is a java-based 3-dimensional Web-chat. In order to run factchat you don't have to install any software. You just need a java-enabled browser. (Internet Explorer and Netscape-Browser, version 4 or higher).

In case you have problems loading factchat, please check the following settings:In case your settings are correct, but your problems aren't solved, you must download and install a new JavaVM (Java Virtuel Machine) at http://java.sun.com (under "popular-" or "hot downloads"). Don't forget to restart your computer after that. If the installation was successful, you can check according to the following -> JavaVM checkup

factchat with all its special features normaly uses port 1997 for connection (not http-mode with port 80). In case your internetconnection disables port 1997 you can read "http-mode" in the black status line (on top). In "http-mode" you can hardly use factchat. Please, contact your server-administrator to improve your port-connection.

Informations for Mac-User:
You should run Internet Explorer to use factchat. Also, if the Program fails to start, you may need to download and install the latest version of the MRJ (Java for Mac) from the Mac OS web site. http://developer.apple.com/java/classic.html
